Arkansas Bridal Fair Accepting Vendor Applications

Bridal Savoir Faire brings you a convenient and exciting array of virtually everything you’ll need to plan your wedding, pre-nuptial events, honeymoon, and future lives together.

Bridal Savoir Faire is hosted at the beautiful wedding and event center, Cypress Meadows Plantation, which is located in Howell, Arkansas.  Built as a stable barn in the early 1900′s, Cypress Meadows Wedding & Event Center has been converted into a beautiful venue.  This scene creates the perfect backdrop for a vintage feel or shabby chic wedding.  Brides-to-be come from all over Arkansas to view this space as their premiere wedding venue.

Give blood with the American Red Cross and help maintain the summer blood supply

Give blood with the American Red Cross and help maintain the summer blood supply

UNDATED (June 3, 2014) — The American Red Cross encourages eligible blood donors to make and keep donation appointments to maintain the summer blood supply and help prevent a shortage. Donors of all blood types are currently needed, especially those with type O negative, B negative and A negative.

While the need for blood remains constant during the summer, donations drop. Between June and August, on average, two fewer donors give blood at each Red Cross blood drive than what hospitals need. This seasonal decline could be overcome if just two additional donors – above what is expected – give blood at each Red Cross blood drive this summer.

Arkansas Foodbank's Empty Bowls event

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – The 12th annual Empty Bowls event was held Thursday in Little Rock.

It's the Arkansas Foodbank's largest running and most consistently successful fundraiser. Our very own Tom Brannon emceed the event, where Arkansas artists create works of art for the auction.

Along with great art, there was also a food court of sorts featuring some of Little Rock's top-rated restaurants.

The Foodbank is celebrating 30 years of feeding the hungry this year.

Blood donation events in White County for Feb.

Blood donation events in White County for Feb.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (Feb. 3, 2014) — Like a hospital emergency room, the American Red Cross must be prepared to provide blood for patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. It’s the blood already on the shelves and readily available that can be lifesaving for people like Chris Salinas.

Chris was a horse trainer who was seriously injured in an accident when a horse pinned him to the pavement. He and his family said they credit the multiple blood transfusions he received with helping him recover.

Type O negative blood is especially needed right now. O negative is the universal blood type and can potentially be transfused to patients with any type. To make an appointment to donate blood and help ensure the shelves are stocked for patients in need, please visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
