Pageant proves all kids are Arkansas Angels

BEEBE, Ark. – Arkansas’ First Special Needs Pageant will be Saturday, March 19, in the Beebe High School Auditorium. Any child with special needs is welcome to participate.

All contestants receive a t-shirt, crown, and a fabulous goodie bag!

Andy Mayberry will be the MC. The I CAN DANCE Dancers will also perform.

Potluck dinner to benefit officers' memorial

SEARCY, Ark. - NorthStar EMS will be hosting a potluck dinner March 9 at 5:30 pm at our office on Benton St. This will be a donation dinner and we can provide to-go plates! 

The proceeds will go to help purchase a memorial for officers in White County that have been killed in the line of duty. This memorial will be displayed at the Law Enforcement Center on Booth Road in Searcy.

Ozark Outdoor Expo is on

CLINTON, Ark. – The Ozark Outdoor Expo will be held kicks off this weekend in Clinton, Ark. at 245 Quality Drive. The Expo runs Friday, Feb. 18 from 5 – 9 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

The event features an archery contest, turkey calling and lots of food.

Pied Pipers perform Saturday

SEARCY, Ark. - The Pied Pipers, Harding University’s improvisational children’s theatre troupe, will perform Saturday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. in the Reynolds Recital Hall. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.

Pied Pipers is directed by Dottie Frye, assistant professor of theatre, and comprises nine students. Their shows use a combination of fairy tales, Aesop fables, poems, songs, audience participation and modern stories.
 
“Our purpose is to entertain children and spark their imaginations,” Frye said. “Each show is full of high energy, creativity and interaction with the children.”
 
The group will have one more performance this school year on April 23, also at 11 a.m.
