News

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Henderson) - Inactive this past week due to their scheduled bye week, the Henderson State football team enters the final week of the regular season as the No.8 team according to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches' Poll and the No.2 team in the NCAA Super Region Three Rankings as it was announced by both organizations on Monday.

Last week, the Reddies (9-0, 7-0 GAC) ascended to the top of the NCAA Super Region Three Rankings and cracked the AFCA top-10 for the first time in program history.

Henderson's last game, an exciting 44-36 win over Southern Arkansas on October 27th, clinched the Reddies (9-0, 7-0 GAC) at least a share of the Great American Conference Championship and marks their second conference championship in the last three years as they earned a share of the Gulf South Conference Championship in 2010.

The top-six ranked teams in each of the four regions in the final regional rankings will advance to the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs. Additionally, the top-two ranked teams in each region will earn a first round bye and then host a second round game the following week.

The Selection Show for the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs is scheduled to be streamed on www.ncaa.com<http://www.ncaa.com/> at 4:00 pm CST on Sunday, November 11th.

The NCAA Super Region Three Rankings are determined by a committee that is made up of representatives from the Northern Sun Conference, Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Great American Conference, and Great Northwest Conference.

Henderson State's region, Super Region Three, is made of 49 teams across four conferences.
