Hendrix tops list of 'Up and Coming' liberal arts colleges


CONWAY, Ark. (September 9, 2014) – Hendrix College was named the nation's #1 "Up and Coming" liberal arts college by

U.S. News and World Report

, whose annual college guide was published today.

According to U.S. News, the list includes the institutions most often cited by college presidents, academic leaders and admissions deans as having made promising and innovative changes in academic life, faculty, student life, campus and facilities. Hendrix has appeared on this list for seven consecutive years.

Hendrix is the only top 100 private national liberal arts college in Arkansas in the 2015 U.S. News Best Colleges rankings.

"To see Hendrix recognized, rightfully so, among America's best and most innovative colleges is truly exciting," said Hendrix President Bill Tsutsui. "Hendrix's commitment to being a pace-setter nationally in the liberal arts and engaged learning sets the education we offer here apart."

Hendrix is also listed #8 among national liberal arts colleges that demonstrate "A Strong Commitment to Teaching."
