SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) - The Searcy community has been shaken this week as the gruesome details of Malik Drummond's death have been unraveled.

"He's a monster,
"
said Malik

s Stepfather.

News of the confession rocked the Searcy community.
Lesley Marcotte, Jeffrey Clifton's ex-girlfriend, admitted to police that she was there the night Malik Drummond was beaten to death by his own father for not eating his dinner.
It happened November 20, three days before police were called.

"Thursday night, she told us Jeff was disciplining Malik and went too far. And over some point in the night, Malik passed away,
"
explained Sgt. Steve Hernandez with the Searcy Police Department.

Just hours after the details were released, a prayer vigil was held outside the home where Malik was last seen alive.
Many of those in attendance were some of the 500 volunteers that helped search for Malik after he disappeared, which ended up being an elaborate story concocted by his father, Jeffrey Clifton.

"It's very sad that they had us out here hunting and looking for Malik, and he was gone three days,
"
said Shaquilla O
'
Neil.

An arrest affidavit released Thursday revealed the gruesome details of Malik Drummond's death.

"Over the next few days, Jeff actually kept Malik's body there close to the residence. And then sometime early Sunday morning, he disposed of the body in Jackson County,
" said
Sgt. Hernandez.

When Clifton was arrested Tuesday, he led investigators to the remains.

"My heart is just destroyed. My heart can't even feel like it's beating anymore. It hurts so bad. I don't know what to do,
"
said Malik
'
s Stepfather.

Lesley Marcotte is facing hindering apprehension charges after police said she knew about the murder and didn't report it. Jeffrey Clifton is charged with Capitol Murder and Abusing a Corpse. He's being held without bond.
