Memorials & peace walk for Malik Drummond

SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) - It was a day of memorials in Searcy on Saturday as friends, family and members of the community held multiple services for Malik Drummond.

Malik was the toddler that was found dead earlier in the month of December. He had been missing for over a year when his body was discovered in Jackson County. His father, Jeffery Clifton was charged with his murder after he was able to lead police to where he allegedly buried the boy.

On Saturday, friends of the family put together a "peace walk" in Malik's honor. They believe that it helps them remember what they went through a year ago and why.

"Everybody that really helped look for him. It was all really freezing, and that's all we could think about. How cold it is, how cold he is and I don't care if it was freezing rain out here. I would probably still do this," said Joy Sexton.
About two dozen walked tonight after this morning's service.
