Police say burned body is missing Searcy woman | News
BEULAH, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Police say the burned
body of a woman found in the Cache River Wildlife Management Refuge is that of a missing Searcy woman.
Police say an autopsy confirms the body is that of 46-year-old
Kimberly Thomas and that her death is being investigated as a
homicide. A cause of death has not been released.
The body was found Sept. 18 by hunters near the town of Beulah
in the refuge.
Thomas was last heard from by her family on Sept. 12. Her home
burned Sept. 14 and authorities have said arson is suspected.
Monday, the crime lab identified the body as that of Kimberly Steele-Thomas.
We contacted the White County Sheriff's Department for comment, they told Today's THV they handed over their investigation to state police as well.
They also mentioned Steele - Thomas has a family member working for the department and they would rather not speak to the media right now.
