Harding earns GSC Men's All-Sports Trophy

SEARCY, Ark. -- It has been a memorable year for Harding Men's Sports. After winning their third straight cross-country title, winning their first ever GSC basketball tournament and playing in their first ever GSC Baseball Tournament Championship, the Harding Men's program has earned the GSC Men's All Sports Trophy.

The win snaps Valdosta State's 3 year string of GSC All Sports Titles. 

In 11 seasons in the GSC this is the Bisons first-ever All-Sports Championship. It is the first awarded to a GSC West team since the '05-'06 season.

Harding places infielder on Capitol One Academic All District Honors List

Harding Senior Jason Nappi has earned a spot on the Capitol One 1st Team Academic All District Honors LIst.

The Senior claimed the spot after a 2011 season that saw him hit 9 homers, 51 ribbies, and a .381 batting average. Originally from Birmingham, Nappi is the starting 3rd baseman for The Bisons. Nappi has led his team in hitting all season.

Nappi is pursuing a Master's degree in Business Management and Ethics, and has a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Harding Baseball #8 in NCAA D-2 South Region

The Harding University Baseball remains #8 in the NCAA II South Region. The rankings determine the 8 team NCAA II South Region Tournament.

The tournament consists of the 3 conference champions from the GSC, Sunshine State Conference, and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference plus the next 5 highest ranked teams.

Harding is 36 - 10 overall, and has a 25 - 9 record against D2 opponents.

Book featuring Harding University nursing students and faculty nominated for award

SEARCY, Ark. — A book featuring the Harding University Carr College of Nursing faculty and students was nominated for the Capstone International Nursing Book Award by Sigma Theta Tau International to be presented at their convention in October.

The book, “Giving Through Teaching: How Nurse Educators Are Changing the World,” features assistant professors Janice Bingham and Karen Kelley, and photos of students and faculty are included in the book as well. National League for Nursing president and Harding College of Nursing dean Dr. Cathleen Shultz served as an editor with Drs. Joyce Fitzpatrick and Tonia Aiken. The three leading nurse educators compiled details from the personal and professional experiences of more than 100 colleagues for the book.

Lady Bisons to play North Alabama at GSC Tourney

SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding women's basketball team will play North Alabama in the first round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament on Thursday, Mar. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Miss.

The Lady Bisons are the No. 4 seed from the GSC West Division. North Alabama is the No. 1 seed from the East Division.
Harding and North Alabama met twice this season. North Alabama won in Searcy 50-46 and Harding won in Florence, Ala., 65-59.

Ozark Outdoor Expo is on

Ozark Outdoor Expo is on

CLINTON, Ark. – The Ozark Outdoor Expo will be held kicks off this weekend in Clinton, Ark. at 245 Quality Drive. The Expo runs Friday, Feb. 18 from 5 – 9 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

The event features an archery contest, turkey calling and lots of food.
