Meredith Williams of White Co. named Miss Arkansas Rice 2012-13

BRINKLEY, AR— White County 18-year old Meredith Williams was named Miss Arkansas Rice at the state contest on Saturday. She is the daughter of Bill and Ruth Williams from Searcy.

The first runner-up and second-runner ups were Bailey Dillinger of St. Francis County and Bailey Davis of Craighead County, respectively.

Contestants were judged on rice promotion, rice cooking skills and knowledge of the rice industry. Meredith’s recipe was “Pineapple Rice Delight.” Representatives from seven counties participated in the contest, which has a 51-year history. The other contestants were Stephanie Palmerin of Arkansas County; Brooklyn Devazier of Cross County; Elizabeth Pack of Lonoke County and Ashtyn Lowry of Monroe County.

Contest judges were Tara Johnson, Arkansas Farm Bureau; Mary Francis Perkins, President Arkansas Women in Ag; and Jennifer James, Chairman, USA Rice Federation Communication Committee.

LRFW launches youth fashion design competition

LRFW launches youth fashion design competition

Little Rock Fashion Week is accepting applications from students entering grades 1st through 12th for its Youth Fashion Sketch Design Competition. Applications can be downloaded at LittleRockFashionWeek.com.

The purpose of the competition is to ignite, motivate and encourage young people who are interested in the fashion industry. Students are asked to create their own clothing line by sketching out their designs and coming up with a name.

The finalists from different grade categories (1st-5th grades; 6th-8th grades; and 9th-12th grades) will be invited to attend Little Rock Fashion Week 2012.

Little Rock Fashion Week calling all models

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- It's time once again for Little Rock Fashion Week's model search!

This year's audition is a two-day affair on May 20 and 27. Those wishing to audtion on May 20 will have the opportunity to win tickets to Riverfest. A cash prize will also be given away to the Model of the Year after LRFW.
