Local Dentist Gives Free Dental Work to Veterans

SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) - We all have daily woes we have to deal with, but sometimes it's more difficult for veterans to overcome theirs.

Whether it's re-acclimation to society or mental illnesses, they continue some battles long after coming home.

On Saturday, however, one central Arkansas dentist did his part in trying to help out. Dr. Darryl Ragland just opened Aspen Dental in Searcy, but he has been in the practice for 28 years.

As part of his company, Saturday was a day where more than 300 Aspen Dentals around the country gave free dental work to veterans.

"You know dealing with a Navy dentist, they're not as smooth as a civilian dentist," said retired Marine Corps Master Sergeant Gary Castille.

Castille says it's tough for veterans like himself to get coverage, along with other healthcare benefits.

"This is absolutely outstanding," he continued.
